Talking to India Today, Babita Phogat said that the government is seriously monitoring the probe by the special committee and all legitimate demands of the wrestlers will be looked into. Babita Phogat is a member of the monitoring committee set up to investigate the matter of wrestlers. Speaking on the incident in Haridwar, he said, wrestlers were used in this matter by confusing them.

The wrestlers had announced to shed the medal

Angered by the lack of action against Brij Bhushan, the wrestlers had announced on May 30 that they would float their medals in the Ganges. The same evening the wrestlers also reached Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar with their medals. All this was about to happen that in a dramatic development several khap leaders reached there along with Naresh Tikait, the leader of Bharatiya Kisan Union and convinced the wrestlers not to do so. After this the wrestlers handed over their medals to Naresh Tikait.

‘Even if I had to touch the feet..’

On going to exchange the medals, Babita said, “The wrestlers were used in a way. Had I been there, I would have never allowed this to happen, even if I had to touch their (wrestlers’) feet. I feel sad that something like this happened.” Happened.” The former Olympian said, “Whoever suggested them (wrestlers) to immerse their medals did not do it for their good. They are not in favor of the wrestlers, but against them.”

Babita Phogat targeted the opposition parties for misleading the wrestlers. He said, I want to ask, where did the opposition say when the wrestlers were being arrested. They misled the wrestlers and when the police were arresting them, they ran away.
