Railways announced recruitment for 4098 posts, applications for JE-DMS and CMA posts will start from August 14.

RRB JE recruitment 2026: Big news has come for the youth preparing for government jobs in Indian Railways. Railway Recruitment Board has issued short notification for recruitment to 4098 posts under Centralized Employment Notice 04/2026. Through this recruitment drive, appointments will be made to the posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical Metallurgical Assistant. The online application process will start from 14th August 2026 and will continue till 13th September 2026. However, the dates released at present are provisional. Notification related to recruitment will be issued before the start of the application process.

Recruitment will be done on 4,098 posts

According to the notification issued by the Railway Recruitment Board, this recruitment will be done through all the RRBs across the country. In this, a total of 4,098 posts of Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent and Chemical Metallurgical Assistant will be filled. Complete details of John wise and post wise persons will also be released in the notification.

Who can apply?

According to the short notice, the age of the candidate applying should be between 18 to 33 years as on January 1, 2027. The detailed information related to educational qualification will be released in the detailed notification. Candidates having 3-year diploma or graduate degree in the relevant engineering branch will be eligible to apply for recruitment. Complete details of eligibility as per the post will be provided in the notification.

How much salary will you get and what will be the selection process?

Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level 6 of the Seventh Pay Commission. If selected, the candidate will get an initial basic salary of Rs 35,400 per month. Apart from this, benefits of other allowances will also be given as per Railway rules. Candidates will be selected in several stages under RRB JE Recruitment 2026. In this, first of all the computer based examination CBT-1 will be conducted. In this, successful candidates will have to appear in CBT-2. Apart from this, document verification and medical examination will be conducted. Candidates who qualify all the stages will be given final appointment.

Advice to update Aadhaar before application

Railway Recruitment Board has advised the candidates to verify their identity through Aadhaar during application. According to the board, the name and date of birth recorded in the Aadhar card of the candidates should be exactly the same as recorded in the class 10th certificate. Along with this, candidates have also been advised to update their photo and biometric information in Aadhaar before applying, so that there is no problem at the time of document verification.
