Three fake medicines being sold in the market, quality of 56 medicines including Calcium-Vitamin D is bad

This is the whole matter
As per regular regulatory monitoring activity, list of Non-Standard Quality (NSQ) and Counterfeit Medicines is released every month on CDSCO portal. According to the October report, the quality of 56 drug samples tested by the Central Drug Laboratories was found to be non-standard. At the same time, three medicines were found to be fake during investigation.

The quality of these medicines is bad
It is noteworthy that this test is conducted every month by CDSCO, in which samples of medicines available in the market are taken and tested. In the list of October, 56 medicines were found to be of non-standard quality, which included medicines like Calcium 500, Vitamin D3 250, IU Tablets IP, Ciprofloxacin Tablet USP 500, Aceclofenac, Paracetamol Tablets. At present, the names of fake medicines have not been known.

These medicines had failed last month
After this investigation which is done every month, many medicines come to the fore, after which the reply of those companies also comes. The batches of medicines whose samples are taken are available for sale in the market. Last month also, 49 medicines including top selling cough syrup, multivitamin, anti allergy etc had failed on quality parameters in the September report of CDSCO. DCGI Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi said that if any medicine fails in the testing parameters then it is not said to be of standard quality. From this it is understood that the medicine of that batch of the company which has manufactured this medicine is not as per the standard. Notices are issued to such companies.
