Tax: Who pays the most tax in India, who among Ambani and Adani fills the government’s treasury

Top Tax Payers in India: In India, you have to pay many types of taxes. These include income tax, GST and capital gains tax etc. We all have to pay tax on our salary or income from business. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries has topped the list of top taxpayers companies for the financial year 2022-23. Two Tata Group companies, Tata Consultancy Services and Tata Steel, have also been included in this list. But, none of the companies of the country’s second richest man Gautam Adani are included in the top 10 list.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Akshay Kumar paid the highest tax

According to the data of the Income Tax Department, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become the highest tax-paying taxpayer by paying Rs 38 crore as tax. He is followed by Bollywood player Akshay Kumar, who has paid Rs 29.5 crore as income tax. Another report claimed that Jeff Bezos has paid $973 million in taxes to the US government between 2014 and 2018. He is considered the highest tax-paying taxpayer in the world.

Reliance Industries is the highest tax paying company in India

Reliance Industries has been making it to the Fortune Global 500 list for 21 consecutive years. The company has secured the top spot in the list by paying Rs 20,376 crore as tax. Reliance Industries, which operates in many sectors from oil to telecom, had a revenue of Rs 9,74,864 crore. State Bank of India (SBI) has been at the second spot. This bank has paid Rs 16,973 crore as tax to the government. The revenue of the country’s largest bank has been Rs 3,50,845 crore. HDFC Bank is at the third spot in the list, which has paid Rs 15,350 crore as tax. After this comes Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This IT company has paid Rs 14,604 crore as tax. ICICI Bank is at the fifth spot by paying Rs 11,793 crore.

These companies also made it to the top 10

ONGC is at the sixth position in the list. This public sector oil marketing company has paid Rs 10,273 crore as tax. Tata Steel has secured the seventh position by paying Rs 10,160 crore. After this comes Coal India. This government company has paid Rs 9,876 crore as tax. Infosys is at the ninth position in the list. The IT company has paid Rs 9,214 crore as tax. Axis Bank is at the last position in the top 10 list. This private sector bank has paid Rs 7,326 crore as tax. Maharashtra is the state that pays the highest tax in the country and this situation has been there for many years.
