Importance of Usha Arghya

On the last day of Chhath Puja, Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya are worshiped by reaching the river ghat, lake early in the morning and standing in waist-deep water. Many people also offer Arghya by making a water pond in a tub etc. at home. There is a tradition of offering Arghya to the setting sun a day before Usha Arghya and then the next morning to offer Arghya to the rising sun. This is considered the most important ritual of Chhath Puja.

While offering Arghya, the devotee offers fruits, thekua, prasad and other items and prays for the happiness, prosperity of the family and long life of the children. Right time for Usha Arghya

According to religious belief, Usha Arghya should be given at the time of sunrise. When the first rays of the sun become visible and the sun starts coming above the horizon, at the same time one should stand in water and offer Arghya to the Sun God. Usha Arghya From a few minutes before sunrise to just after sunrise Are being given. It is not considered right to offer Usha Arghya after a long time has passed after sunrise. According to the almanac, the time of sunrise on March 25, 2026 will be 6:20 am. You can offer Arghya to the Sun around this time.
