At Juna Akhara in religious city Haridwar, the saints gave the message of tradition and faith by playing Holi with colors and cow dung in a unique way.

On Friday, 27 February 2026, the saints of Niranjani Akhara and Juna Akhara played Holi with traditional colors as well as cow dung in the premises of Maya Devi Temple located at Juna Bay in Haridwar. The saints wished each other by applying colors and cow dung and celebrated the festival amidst bhajans and kirtans.

On this occasion, President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Shri Mahant Ravindra Puri said that – Gobar Holi is a symbol of our Sanatan tradition. Cow has been given the status of mother in Hindu religion and its dung is also considered sacred. It gives the message of respect for nature, environmental protection and the uniqueness of Indian culture.

Swami Harigiri Maharaj, General Secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Haridwar said that the festival of Holi works to unite the saint community. Through Gobar Holi, this message is being given to the society that we should stay connected to our roots and traditions and live life in harmony with nature.
