Rangbhari Ekadashi Kashi Holi 2026: Holi has started in Kashi. On the occasion of Rangbhari Ekadashi, Baba Vishwanath’s city Kashi was seen colored in the colors of Holi. On this day, Palki Yatra of Shiva-Parvati is taken out. Holi is considered to be the beginning of Kashi with this palanquin procession. In fact, after the marriage on Mahashivratri, on this day Lord Shiva brings Mother Parvati to his home in Kashi for the first time. This is called ‘Gauna’ of Mother Parvati.

This year too, the view of Kashi on Rangbhari Ekadashi was worth seeing. Holi was played with Gulal, Abir and flowers in Kashi i.e. Banaras. Then special makeup was done on Baba Vishwanath. Seeing this grand sight, everyone present there got excited. A crowd of lakhs joined the palanquin procession to play Holi with Shiva and Parvati and apply gulal to them.

Holi celebrations officially begin in Kashi with Rangbhari Ekadashi. Baba Vishwanath and Mata Gauri are given a grand welcome during the Palki Yatra. Devotees offer abir-gulal, colors and rose petals along the way. The entire atmosphere echoes with bhajans, kirtans and cheers.

The tradition of playing Holi with ashes in Kashi on the next day of Rangbhari Ekadashi is years old and wonderful, which is known as Masan Holi. At Manikarnika Ghat of Kashi, Aghori, saints and Shiva devotees play Holi by applying the ashes of the pyre on their body and blowing it in the air. They perform Tadav, meditate on the beats of drums and worship Shiva, the atmosphere becomes filled with Shiva with the chanting of Har Har Mahadev. Masaan Holi will be played on 28th February.
