Shardiya Navratri 2024 Live: Navratri of Sharadiya i.e. Ashwin month (Ashwin navratri) will start from 3rd October. This festival of Goddess Puja will continue till 11th October. This year, due to variation in dates, Navratri will be of 10 days instead of 9.

Two important dates of Navratri, Durgashtami (Navratri ashtami) and Durga Navami (Navratri navami) will be celebrated on the same day. According to religious beliefs, during these nine days, Mother Durga comes to earth and the earth is called her motherland. Durga Puja is also celebrated in this Navratri.

The festival of Shardiya Navratri is considered important from the point of view of accomplishment and sadhana. In this Navratri, people observe many types of fasts, restraints, rules, yagyas, bhajans, worships, etc. to accumulate their spiritual and mental strength. Shardiya Navratri is the most popular and important Navratri among all the Navratri. That is why Shardiya Navratri is also known as Maha Navratri.

There are 4 Navratris in a year

Navratri comes a total of four times in a year. The first in Chaitra month, the second in Ashadh, the third in Ashwin and the fourth in Magh month. Navratris of Chaitra and Ashwin months are normal, in which 9 goddesses are worshipped. In these Navratri, the Goddess is worshiped in simple ways. Gupt Navratri comes in the month of Ashadh-Magh in which Mahavidya is worshipped, which is important for Tantrik and Aghoris.

What happens in 9 days of Navratri? (Shardiya Navratri 2024 Puja)

According to the nine days of Navratri, women wear clothes of nine different colors. This color is decided on the basis of the day of the week. According to Vedic astrology, each day of the week is related to a planet. Due to its effect, mother’s blessings and auspicious effects of planets are seen in life.

A special offering is offered to each form of Navadurga, which pleases the Goddess.
