What should be done with the goods purchased on Dhanteras?

Dhanteras day is considered very auspicious for shopping. It is believed that the things purchased on this day increase 13 times and the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi remain.

The festival of Dhanteras was celebrated on Tuesday 29 October 2024 and people did a lot of shopping as per their capacity. On this day, there is importance in purchasing everything from earthen lamps to coriander, broom, salt, vehicles, houses, electronics items, gold and silver etc.

On the day of Dhanteras, people buy many types of items and start using them immediately, because they do not know what to do with the items purchased on Dhanteras.

Let us tell you that whatever item you buy on the day of Dhanteras, be it a broom, coriander, salt or utensils, do not use it on that day. Rather keep it safely till the day of Diwali.

Whatever new item you buy on Dhanteras, keep it safely. You can also wrap small items in red colored cloth and keep them in the cupboard. Keep big items in a sacred place in the house.

While worshiping Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali, also worship the items purchased on Dhanteras. Worship small items like jewellery, coriander or utensils etc. by keeping them near the place of worship and also worship big items. Doing this brings happiness and prosperity.
