Thousands of saplings of many special species were planted for the first time in the Yamuna riverfront areas of Delhi, including poplar and cherry blossom saplings. Before this, such plants have never been planted in the capital Delhi. Apart from this, plants like Bougainvillea, Kaner, Semal and Kachnar have also been planted. The cherry blossom tree mainly has beautiful flowers of white and pink colors and is mostly seen in cities like Shillong, Bangalore and Shimla. The nature there is quite favorable for this particular type of plants. On the other hand, we see Chinar tree mostly in Jammu and Kashmir, it also produces more leaves. Planting of these special types of plants will change the picture of the coastal areas of Yamuna. Where earlier people used to find it difficult to pass through these areas due to bad smell and dirt, whereas these fragrant flowers will now remind people of other states of the country.

Picture of changing Yamuna will be visible by June

To speed up many works including cleanliness, plantation and beautification in the coastal areas of Yamuna, the Lieutenant Governor is constantly giving directions to the officers. Apart from this, he himself has done on-site inspection of the Yamuna’s coastal areas with the officials several times and it is expected that by the last week of June, the changing picture of Yamuna will also be visible.
