Atishi told that, ‘On June 21, the elected government of Delhi had sent a recommendation in the name of retired judge Sangeet Lodha from Rajasthan High Court for DERC to LG. But the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, not accepting it, made Justice Umesh Kumar the chairman of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission in an illegal, unconstitutional manner last night at 10 pm.
‘Cheapest electricity in Delhi’
Minister Atishi further said that BJP does not want the people of Delhi to get free and 24×7 electricity. They want Delhi to become like Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, where there is no electricity for hours. Atishi said that even without subsidy in Delhi, electricity is available at ₹ 4.50/unit on 300 units. Whereas in BJP ruled states these prices are very high. If you look at the figures, electricity bill has to be paid at ₹ 10.00/Unit in Maharashtra, ₹ 8.20/ Unit in Assam, ₹ 6.50/ Unit in Uttar Pradesh, ₹ 6.70/ Unit in Madhya Pradesh.
Will appeal in the Supreme Court
During this, Minister Atishi while assuring the people of Delhi on behalf of CM Kejriwal said that the way the public works were done by fighting against the central government for 8 years, in the same way the Supreme Court against the appointment of non-constitutional DERC Will file a case in Court).
