Chandauli: Accident during demolition of 150 year old temple, employee dies due to dome falling

The work of widening the road from the stop at Chandauli to Godhana Bypass is going on at a fast pace. Under this project, many old buildings have been removed in the last few months. Due to this, last night the 150 years old Kali Mata temple located right in front of Mughalsarai railway station was also being demolished. During this time a big accident happened.

During the demolition of the temple, its dome suddenly collapsed. A contract employee of a private company carrying out road widening work came under the influence of the dome. There was chaos on the spot after the accident.

People present nearby and colleagues immediately took the injured employee to the hospital in Varanasi, where his treatment was started. However, he died during treatment on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Baldev, who was a resident of Domari village. As soon as the news of his death was received, there was chaos in the family. At the same time, after the incident, various types of discussions have also started in the area. Local people are raising questions on the security arrangements regarding the accident.

Administration assured investigation and action

The administration’s statement has also come out in this matter. SDM Rajeev Saxena said that a notice will be issued to the executing agency carrying out the road widening work. The entire matter will be investigated and if any negligence is found, appropriate action will be taken against the people concerned.

He also said that the process of financial assistance and other grants from the government to the relatives of the deceased will be completed soon, so that the family can get all possible help.
