CM Gehlot’s attack on party-changing leaders, ‘Being greedy, they change the party and…’

Rajasthan Elections: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot (Ashok Gehlot) and other leaders have given their reaction amidst the stir in political parties due to the defection of law makers. CM Gehlot said on Saturday that horse-trading has affected the very essence of democracy and it should not be encouraged. Addressing the National Legislators Meet here, CM Gehlot said that horse-trading should be a matter of concern not only for any one party but for all.

Addressing the conference digitally, CM Gehlot said, ‘Many times people become greedy and change the party. It should not happen. This sends a wrong message to the youth. He said, in a democracy, we are not the enemy of the opposition but it is important for us to remain committed to our ideology and never think of changing the party. Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu also expressed concern over the anti-defection law and said that if MLAs want to change their political allegiance, they should first resign. Naidu also called for a review of the anti-defection law as many of its provisions have outlived their utility.

CM Gehlot also tweeted about this program, ‘Addressed through video conferencing at the three-day National Legislators Conference organized in Mumbai with the aim of strengthening democracy and strengthening good governance. In this programme, discussions were held on the traditions of the Vidhansabha, rules and important issues of public interest. It is noteworthy that assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan this year, for which preparations have been intensified from both the BJP and the Congress. While CM Gehlot is busy promoting his new schemes, the opposition BJP is targeting the government by finding flaws in them.
