Delhi News: After the decision of the Delhi High Court, the result of the election of six members of the Standing Committee in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has been declared. Three members of the Aam Aadmi Party and three members of the Bharatiya Janata Party have been declared winners in the Standing Committee elections. Aam Aadmi Party’s members Amil Malik, Mohini Jinwal and Raminder Kaur have been elected. Whereas AAP’s Sarika Chaudhary has lost the election. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Gajendra Daral and Pankaj Luthra, former mayors, have been declared winners from the Bharatiya Janata Party.
This election was held on February 24, but due to the uproar, the mayor announced re-election. In protest against this, the BJP challenged the mayor’s decision in the Delhi High Court. In its decision, the High Court had rejected Mayor Shelly Oberoi’s demand for re-election. Along with this, the mayor was ordered to declare the election results only on the basis of earlier voting. Not only this, the vote which was declared void by the Mayor should also be considered as a valid vote.
