He told that when the four accused were walking on foot with three bags in Saroli on Saturday evening, they were caught at a check post.

“They (the accused) had hidden 43 bundles of fake Rs 500 notes, each containing Rs 1,000 notes. To defraud people, the top and bottom notes of these bundles were changed,” said a Saroli police station official. Their plan was to cheat common people in banks, markets etc. through these notes.”

“The fake notes did not have serial numbers on them and ‘Indian Children’s Account’ was printed in their place,” he said.
