Rajasthan Court Verdict: Sirohi court has punished the husband with rigorous imprisonment of seven years and a financial penalty of Rs 20 thousand. The court of District and Sessions Judge Rupa Gupta pronounced the verdict holding Bhanwar Singh guilty under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code. Public Prosecutor Dr. Laxman Singh Bala told that Ratankanwar had a love marriage with Bhanwar Singh in February 2019. After marriage, the couple started fighting.
The husband used to beat his wife and ask her to die. The wife was fed up with her husband’s harassment. Ultimately he decided to embrace death. Ratankanwar, fed up with her husband’s harassment, committed suicide by hanging herself at home on 25 August 2019. Dak resident Sohan Singh gave a written report against his son-in-law to Police Station Officer Anadara. Ratankanwar had told his father and brother Devendra Singh about the torture before taking the deadly step.
Husband sentenced to seven years and fined Rs 20,000
On the complaint of the father, the police registered a case against the accused Bhanwar Singh under serious sections. After investigation, the police presented the charge sheet in the court of Magistrate Revdar. The case was heard by the Sessions Court. Judge Rupa Gupta’s court heard both the sides. The court agreed with the arguments of Public Prosecutor Dr. Laxman Singh Bala.
Found guilty of instigating wife to commit suicide
After the completion of the hearing, the court found the husband guilty. Therefore, the guilty husband was punished with rigorous imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 20,000. The aggrieved party expressed happiness over the court’s decision. The father told that the daughter has got justice. Public Prosecutor Dr. Laxman Singh Bala made effective representation on behalf of the state government in the case.
