Fasting has now reached critical stage – Doctors
Amid Wangchuk’s fast, doctors have warned that his long-running fast has now reached a critical stage. Addressing supporters at the protest site, Wangchuk acknowledged his deteriorating physical condition, but said his resolve remained unwavering. He said, “I am weak from outside, but very strong from inside. I am sure all of you are strong both inside and outside. We need this energy for July 20, when we will take out a peaceful march to the Parliament. Together we will present our views in the temple of democracy.”
Sonam Wangchuk’s weight is now 56.55 kg
In the last 24 hours, Wangchuk’s weight further decreased by 350 grams, due to which his total weight has reduced by about 9.5 kg. According to the health bulletin issued by the team of doctors taking care of him, Wangchuk now weighs 56.55 kg. His BP was 108/68 mmHg, blood sugar 80 mg/dl, pulse rate 72 per minute and oxygen saturation 96 percent.
