Now traffic challan will be settled in Delhi even on holidays, new system starts from July 5

Settlement of traffic challan in Delhi is now going to become easier. For the convenience of people and quick disposal of long pending challans, Weekend Traffic Courts are being started in the District Court of Delhi from 5th July 2026. This initiative is being started with the joint efforts of Delhi District Court and Delhi Traffic Police.

22 special benches will be made in 11 district courts

A total of 22 traffic court benches will be made in 11 district court premises of Delhi. Each bench will be able to dispose of up to 700 compoundable traffic challans in a day. Only a maximum of 20 challans can be presented under this facility for one vehicle.

Court will be held on the second Saturday and all Sundays of every month

Weekend Traffic Court will operate on the second Saturday and all Sundays every month. The timing of the courts will be from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm in which people affected by vehicle challans can easily get relief.

Facility will be available in these district courts

This facility will be available in all the District Court premises of Delhi including Tis Hazari, Patiala House, Saket, Dwarka, Rohini and Karkardooma.

People whose compoundable traffic challans are pending in virtual court. They will be able to download their challan from the prescribed portal and present it in the court. After this, the challan can be settled on the spot as per the legal procedure.

With this new system, people will get relief from the difficulties faced in the virtual court process. Besides, pending challans will be settled quickly, adherence to traffic rules will be encouraged and the burden on courts will also be reduced.
