Opposition’s attack on police action on wrestlers, many parties including SP-BSP raised questions

Wrestlers Protest: The Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Lok Dal and the UP Congress Committee have criticized the central government against the detention of protesting wrestlers by the Delhi Police from the Jantar Mantar protest site. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, this incident makes it clear that all the slogans of BJP on women’s safety and respect were hollow and only to grab votes of women. SP’s national general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav said, whatever may be the logic, intention or conclusion, the scene is unfortunate, daughters of the country with the tricolor.

SP leader Shivpal also posted a picture of a female wrestler and a tricolor on which she had fallen and was being dragged by the police. On the other hand, SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya made a scathing attack on the central government regarding this and said, BJP is moving towards monarchy. Prime Minister, when you were getting your coronation done, the country’s world champion daughters were getting beaten up. They are brave daughters who have won gold, silver, bronze medals in Olympics and made the country proud across the world. So please stop insulting daughters.

BJP government targeted

Along with the Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Lok Dal has also opposed the police action on the wrestlers. RLD President Jayant Chaudhary said, autocracy will not be tolerated. On this issue, the entire opposition is now visible together in UP. After SP, RLD, UP Congress also gave statement in support of women wrestlers and said that female wrestler Vinesh Phogat, soon after being detained, shouted ‘Congratulations to the new country’! So, dear citizens of India, how do you like the glimpse of the new country? UPCC posted video, in which Vinesh Phogat hails from the window of a police bus, Naya Desh Mubarak! are shouting. At the same time, BSP supremo Mayawati has also opposed the action taken on the wrestlers.

Protest against the barbaric action of Delhi Police

When the new Parliament building was being inaugurated on Sunday, many wrestlers and their supporters had announced the siege of the Parliament. This led to a heated argument between the two wrestlers and the Delhi Police. After which the police took the wrestlers into custody. Regarding the demand of arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for sexually assaulting female wrestlers including a minor new parliament building were trying to march towards.

The wrestlers had called a women’s mahapanchayat on Sunday, for which they did not have permission. Police personnel dragged the protesters and took them in buses.
