Under the Farishte Scheme, the government is encouraging the common people to come forward during road accidents to help the accident victims and save their lives.

In Punjab, people who timely take the injured to the hospital in a road accident have been exempted from legal complications and police questioning. He is also being honored with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 and a certificate of appreciation. For the successful operation of this scheme, the government has allocated an initial budget of Rs 20 crore.

Under the Farishte Scheme, more than 384 private and government hospitals have been registered across Punjab to provide treatment to persons injured in road accidents. The injured are being provided immediate treatment in these hospitals.

Along with this, ‘Road Safety Force’ has been formed in Punjab. Road Safety Force has saved the lives of hundreds of people injured in road accidents in Punjab. Also, he was taken to the hospital on time for treatment.

Use of technology in angel planning

In Punjab, technology is being used so that people injured in road accidents can easily find the listed hospitals for treatment.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Traffic and Road Safety Wing of Punjab Police in collaboration with the State Health Agency and Map My India is using the Maples mobile app. Information about hospitals listed for treatment has been made available in this app, so that these hospitals can be easily reached.

Due to policies made for immediate help and human safety in road accidents, road accidents in Punjab have reduced by 25 percent. Also, the lives of hundreds of people have been saved by reaching the hospital on time.
