The court said that he is already facing 10 cases across the country. The trial court’s order convicting him was just and legal. It has also been said that no reasonable ground has been found to stay the sentence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 criminal defamation case on the statement containing Modi surname.

In fact, on March 23 this year, a metropolitan magistrate’s court in Surat convicted Rahul Gandhi under sections 499 and 500 of the IPC and sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment. This case was registered by Gujarat MLA Purnesh Modi.
