Opposition Parties Meeting in Patna: The meeting of opposition parties to be held in Patna on June 23 has received a big setback. Rashtriya Lok Dal President Jayant Chaudhary has expressed his inability to attend the meeting. The RLD president has written a letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar regarding this, in which he told that he will not be able to attend the meeting due to his earlier scheduled programmes. However, after this letter, speculations have started once again about his rift with SP President Akhilesh Yadav.
RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary has said in a letter to Nitish Kumar that he will not be able to attend the meeting due to a pre-determined family programme. However, on the other hand, he has also given his support to this meeting and said that the unity of the opposition parties is the need of the hour. Along with this, he has also given his best wishes to CM Nitish Kumar for this meeting.
This thing written in the letter
Jayant Chaudhary wrote in the letter that, ‘In view of the way authoritarian and communal forces are posing a threat to democracy and social harmony, it is the need of the hour to unite like-minded opposition parties. By discussing the problems and challenges of the country, the entire opposition can present a far-reaching practical plan in front of the public. In this way together we can bring meaningful change in the country with the aspirations and faith of youth, women, farmers and deprived society.
Speculations of tussle with SP intensify
In fact, for the last few days there was continuous speculation about Jayant Chaudhary not attending the meeting of the opposition parties. His move was being linked to the ongoing rift with SP President Akhilesh Yadav, although after this letter the picture has become clear to a great extent. The news of estrangement between Akhilesh Yadav and Jayant Chaudhary intensified during the civic elections when the SP declared Seema Pradhan as its candidate for the Meerut Mayor seat without consulting RLD. After this, there was a clash between the two parties in some other seats as well.
Let us tell you that in order to defeat the BJP in 2024, the general meeting of the opposition parties will be held tomorrow at CM Nitish Kumar’s official residence on Ek Ane Marg. This meeting will start from 11.30 am. In which leaders of many opposition parties including SP President Akhilesh Yadav will be involved. At the same time, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will also participate in the meeting. Jayant Chaudhary wants to contest the elections in UP by taking the Congress along.
