The media center/north pavilion of the stadium is being prepared in the shape of Lord Shiva’s Damru. Floodlights are being installed in the shape of a trident. The entrance is based on Belpatra theme, while the roof is being given a crescent shape. This effort to combine the cultural and spiritual heritage of Kashi with modern architecture will provide a unique identity to the stadium.

Cricket stadium has seating capacity of 30 thousand spectators.

This stadium, with a seating capacity of approximately 30,000 spectators, is being developed with modern facilities and as per global standards. A main cricket ground of international standards and a full-size practice ground have been prepared in the complex. This will provide an excellent environment for organizing national and international matches as well as for the training and skill development of players. At present, the construction work of the stadium is going on in the final stage, it is likely to be completed by the month of September.

The stadium has all the necessary world-class facilities for players, match officials, media representatives, broadcast agencies and spectators. It includes state-of-the-art dressing rooms, modern pavilion, advanced media and broadcast facilities, parking with a capacity of 1500 vehicles, high efficiency floodlight system, modern security system, advanced electrical and fire safety management and high-class facilities for spectators. Land made available on lease for a period of 90 years

The land for the construction of the stadium was provided by the state government on lease for a period of about 90 years, which gave a strong foundation to the project. Not only this, all the administrative permissions and necessary approvals related to the project were also given in a timely manner, due to which the construction work could proceed at a fast pace without any major hindrance.

Stadium construction accelerated due to Yogi government’s prompt working style

Through the Chief Minister’s Accelerated Development Fund, a power sub-station was established near the stadium and power supply was ensured within just four months. The constant coordination between the Varanasi administration and the state government has played an important role in taking this project forward within the stipulated time frame.

92 percent construction work completed

UPCA CEO Ankit Chatterjee said that 92 percent of the construction work of the cricket stadium has been completed. This project is an excellent example of successful coordination between Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, Uttar Pradesh Government and Varanasi Administration. He said that it will be established as a permanent heritage that will give a new direction to the sports development, youth empowerment and cricket culture of the state for decades to come.
