Patna, Politics continues on the bridge accident in Bhagalpur, Bihar. The government is also in action mode but BJP is constantly accusing the government of CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. Issuing a statement on Tuesday (June 6), former Deputy Chief Minister and Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi said that in order to fulfill Nitish Kumar’s ambition of becoming the Prime Minister, the Mahasetu worth 1710 crores was gifted.
Sushil Kumar Modi said that to fulfill the ambition of some people to become the Prime Minister, the contractors of the construction department have to pay more than before, due to which less and inferior material is being used in every construction. At the time of laying the foundation stone of Aguwani-Sultanganj Mahasetu, the Chief Minister was also the Minister of Road Construction Department and the tender for the bridge was also done during his time.
Investigation should be done by external technical expert committee
Sushil Modi said on the Mahasetu that fell in the Ganga river, when Nitish Kumar was continuously monitoring the construction of the bridge, then whom are you asking today why the work has not been completed yet? He said that the matter of repeated collapse of the part of Mahasetu should be investigated by an external technical expert committee.
,Government could not answer any question,
Sushil Modi also said that the Principal Secretary and other senior officers, who have been frozen for a long time in the Road Construction Department, should be completely kept separate from the investigation process related to the bridge. If the design of the bridge was wrong then who gave permission to work on it? Nine months ago, there was a review on the collapse of the Sultanganj Mahasetu, but the whole matter was covered up. Why did the IIT Roorkee team take months to investigate? The government could not answer any of the questions we raised on the whole matter.
