Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Friday (December 13) announced the launch of ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’, which provides monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 to the women of the city, in the next 7 to 10 days. He said, “The government is working on the registration process. Women will get one or two installments under this scheme by March 31, 2025, before the end of the current financial year.”

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal had announced the launch of the scheme on Thursday and promised that the amount would be increased to Rs 2,100 if his party returns to power. Atishi told the media, “This scheme fulfills the government’s promise of empowering women. We have fulfilled our promise of providing Rs 1,000 assistance to women. Despite all efforts by the opposition to disrupt this initiative, we have implemented it. Successfully implemented.”

Atishi said, “The objective of this scheme is to provide financial independence to women and ensure that they do not have to depend on family members for small personal needs.” Regarding eligibility Atishi It said that current or former permanent government employees, women who are or have been MPs, MLAs or councilors, women who have paid income tax in the previous financial year and those who are already receiving any type of pension are eligible for this scheme. Will not be eligible for benefits.

What is the eligibility for Mahila Samman Yojana?

• The woman should be an official voter of Delhi.
• The annual income of women should be up to Rs 2.50 lakh or less.
• Women’s age should be above 18 years and below 60 years.
• If a woman has any four wheeler vehicle in her name then she will not be considered eligible for the scheme.

Earlier, before the assembly elections of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the ruling parties have brought the women vote bank in their favor by bringing such a scheme. In such a situation, now AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal is also hopeful that his party can benefit from ‘Mahila Samman Yojana’ in the Delhi Assembly elections.
