Maharashtra NCP Crisis: NCP leader Ajit Pawar has rebelled and joined the Shinde-Fadnavis government. It is said that there are 30 to 40 MLAs with him. After the rebellion, he was given the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Were there differences within Ajit Pawar’s own family as well as within the party? This question is being asked. Now NCP state president Jayant Patil has reacted to this. Jayant Patil has said that I told Ajit Pawar that you should become the party president.
Jayant Patil gave this answer
Why did Ajit Pawar revolt? Did he have differences with party leaders? This question was asked to Jayant Patil. Answering this question, he said, “There was no question of quarrel in the family. There was no question of controversy in the party as well. Because me and Ajit Pawar used to sit together and take decisions about the party. If a leader had to be appointed, it would have been discussed. If there is a difference of opinion between us on any issue, a big meeting is called.”
Jayant Patil said, “Ajit Pawar had expressed his desire to become the state president of the party. I remember that while choosing the opposition party, I told him (Ajit Pawar) that you should become the state president, I was the leader of the opposition party. This was a year back. Then he (Ajit Pawar) wanted to become the opposition party. That is why Hasan Mushrif and Chhagan Bhujbal suggested that Ajit Pawar should become the leader of the opposition and I should become the state president.”
‘Sharad Pawar was the one to take the decision’
Patil said, “Ajit Pawar, while speaking in the meeting recently, had expressed his desire to work in the party organisation. Sharad Pawar also took cognizance of this statement of Ajit Pawar. A meeting was called on July 6 to discuss this. Jayant Patil said, “Sharad Pawar was about to take some decision on Ajit Pawar’s demand.” Ajit Pawar and I have worked together for many years. Jayant Patil also made it clear that there is no question of dispute between us.
Sharad Pawar’s reaction to Ajit Pawar’s rebellion
Meanwhile, NCP President Sharad Pawar has said that we do not support Ajit Pawar’s rebellion. Sharad Pawar has also said that we have faith in the public. He will soon tour the whole of Maharashtra.
