UP News: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday announced to give the first 100 units of electricity free of cost to families using more than 100 units of electricity every month, giving great relief to electricity consumers. Along with this, the electricity bill of those who consume electricity up to 100 units per month in the state will remain zero. RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary’s reaction has come on this.
Ashok Gehlot gave this information by tweeting on Wednesday night. He said, “The first 100 units of electricity will be given free of cost to the families who consume up to 100 units of electricity every month, that is, no matter how much the bill comes, they will not have to pay any electricity charges for the first 100 units.” Chaudhary said, “People at the bottom of the pyramid will get direct relief from this. The UP government should also give relief to electricity consumers of low-income and middle-income families.”
State government will decide
It is noteworthy that the state government has already made ‘zero’ the electricity bill of those consuming electricity up to 100 units per month. According to Gehlot, “they will not have to pay any bill as before”. Along with this, fixed charges, fuel surcharge and all other charges up to 200 units will be waived off and will be paid by the state government.
He wrote, “After observing the inflation relief camps and talking to the public, there was a feedback that there should be some change in the slab-wise exemption in electricity bills.” Feedback was also received from the public, on the basis of which a big decision has been taken. Earlier, Gehlot had tweeted that he would announce a big relief for the people of the state at night. It is worth mentioning that in the budget of 2023-24, Gehlot had announced free electricity to domestic consumers for consuming up to 100 units under the Chief Minister’s Free Electricity Scheme. This scheme is to be effective from May 1.
