This is because railways get electricity directly from the power grid. Electricity is supplied to the grid from power plants, railways get electricity directly from the power grid, from here electricity is sent to substations. Direct 132 KV is supplied to the railway from the sub-station and from here a current of 12 thousand volts is given in the railway line.

Due to the continuous power supply in the railway line, you must have seen sub-stations along the railway line during your journey. Tripping never takes place here due to continuous power supply.
