How dangerous is your mobile phone, can it be blasted like a pager?

Lebanon Pagers Explosion: A heartbreaking incident took place in Lebanon on 18 September. In fact, hundreds of Hezbollah pagers exploded simultaneously in Lebanon yesterday. According to reports, at least 9 people were killed in this blast, while more than 2,750 people are injured. In such a situation, the question arises that how does a pager work and can such a massive blast be carried out in a phone like a pager. Let us know about it in detail.

What is a pager?

A pager is a small wireless communication device that is used to send and receive messages. It is also called a beeper in simple language. Pagers were used extensively in the 1980s and 1990s. At that time, not many people used mobile phones.

Most people use pagers to receive messages via radio frequency from a base station or a central dispatch. These messages can be numeric, such as phone numbers, or alphanumeric, such as text. Two-way pagers are used to send messages. When a message arrives, the pager sounds a tone. The pager does not depend on the mobile network. Therefore, it is considered a reliable means of communication. In difficult situations, it proves helpful in conveying your message to others.

What was the real reason behind the pager explosion?

Actually, the exact reason for the explosion of the pager is not yet known. Earlier it was said that someone did this using the computer, which caused the battery to heat up. But experts believe that it was even more complicated. According to them, this was done while manufacturing or selling the goods. Small explosive devices may have been hidden in the pager and later exploded together. Or it may also be that an electronic signal was sent, which caused the pager to heat up and explode.

Can a mobile phone explode?

Generally, the battery of the phone can explode due to overcharging or high temperature. At the same time, the battery can also explode due to manufacturing error. Apart from this, if the body of the phone is damaged then the phone can blast.
