According to NFT Evening, Armstrong, a popular figure in the crypto community with more than one million followers on Twitter, experienced a security breach on June 11. Hackers are increasingly taking control of social media accounts of influential people.

The report states that this disturbing trend has affected many well-known personalities, due to which they have lost control of their own online platforms. During this incident, a hacker hacked Armstrong’s Twitter account. The hacker shared several banners depicting US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Gary Gansler as BitBoy.

According to the report, these banners used explicit language, and one of them encouraged users to acquire scam tokens to counter Gansler’s influence in the industry. Major cryptocurrency exchanges such as Coinbase and Binance have recently faced SEC investigations, causing a stir in the crypto market.
