Now scammers are coming with verified accounts, why did Facebook give blue tick to such profiles?

However, Meta is now testing Pad Blue Tick as well. It is currently available for select users. Now it is possible that the scammers have taken advantage of this testing. It is also possible that the scammer has hacked a verified profile and changed the profile picture and username.

Social media expert Matt Navara has shared a screenshot of a fake profile which has got a blue tick. Matt Navara has asked Meta how can Meta verify such a profile? How are ads running on such fake profiles?

The important thing is that the scammers have shown themselves as the official page of Meta. This fake verified profile is sending messages to social media managers with a suspicious link to steal their personal information and money. Scammers are asking to click on the link giving the excuse of security issues.

The screenshot also shows that there are around 950 responses and over 140 comments on the post. It has also been shared 92 times. Profile and posts are looking very real. If you also see such posts, then you should avoid them at all costs. This is a scam advertisement which is being done to get users attacked with malware.
