Sheikh Hasina ICTC Case : After violent protests in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina had to flee Dhaka. Now an interim government has been formed there under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus, but even after this, Sheikh Hasina’s troubles are not decreasing. Sheikh Hasina has been held responsible for the people killed in the violent protests. In this regard, a case of genocide and crimes against humanity has been registered against former PM Sheikh Hasina and others in the International Criminal Tribunal. According to the government news agency BSS, it has been alleged in this case that Sheikh Hasina’s government had committed genocide and crimes against humanity during the students’ movement. An official said that this complaint has been lodged by the father of one of the students, whose son was killed by police bullets during the protest.
Class 9 student was killed
Class 9 student Arif Ahmed Siam was killed by police firing on August 5 during protests in Bangladesh. His father Bulbul Kabir has filed a case through a Supreme Court lawyer. International Criminal Tribunal Deputy Director Ataur Rahman told The Daily Star that a complaint has been registered and after completion of investigation of such a case, a report will be submitted to the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of the Tribunal for further proceedings. The news agency reported that Sheikh Hasina and several others have been accused of genocide and crimes against humanity.

The official said that the complaint accused Sheikh Hasina and others of carrying out mass killings between July 15 and August 5. It includes the names of Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Information and Broadcasting Minister Mohammad Ali Arafat, former ICT Affairs Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak and several senior police officials including sacked Police Chief Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.
