‘China wants Donald Trump to become president because…’, American MP told the reason

Indian-origin US lawmaker Raja Krishnamurthy said on Thursday (August 22, 2024) that China wants Donald Trump to become the President of America. Citing a Chinese book, he said that China wants Republican Party candidate Donald Trump to win the US presidential election.

Krishnamoorthi, a lawmaker from Illinois, is the only Indian-American lawmaker to address the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

“A top Chinese leader has written a book titled America Against America and he thinks he will win that way. The only way to defeat America is to defeat ourselves,” said Krishnamoorthi, a senior member of a committee on China affairs in the House of Representatives.

He said that his job in the Parliament is to study the economy of China. The MP said, ‘Take my words seriously that they want to see Donald Trump because he will start an endless trade war which will increase prices for Americans because he will cut programs to train workers in America. Above all, Trump will pit Americans against Americans and this is what China wants, that we fight among ourselves.’

He said, ‘This is the way to defeat us but we will not do that. What has Kamala Harris told us? When we fight together, we win. She knows that when we fight as a country, we win. When we fight as a team, we win. This is why when Kamala Harris wins in November, we will win.’
