Despite conflict, civil war and international pressure, Bashar al-Assad’s power could not be shaken.

Bashar al-Assad Rule in Syria: President Bashar al-Assad’s government is running in Syria since 2000. Even after two decades and enduring the storm of a brutal civil war, President Bashar al-Assad is still in power in Syria with the help of powerful allies like Russia and Iran. 59-year-old President Bashar al-Assad’s grip on power in Syria appears to be strong.

Bashar al-Assad has been in power as the President of Syria since 2000. He has ruled Syria for 24 years, from 2000 to the present time. Before him, his father Hafiz al-Assad had ruled Syria for 30 years. After whose death his son Bashar al-Assad took power.

Many people had predicted the end of Assad’s rule

When Bashar al-Assad overthrew his regime across the region following the beginning of the Arab Spring in 2011, many predicted the end of the Assad family’s rule. At the same time, the protests in Syria rapidly turned into a civil war. After which Assad’s control over power faced a challenge.

However, Bashar’s regime survived due to the military support of Russia, Iran and Hezbollah. After this, the Syrian government maintained control over its major areas for many years. At the same time, the other parties remained divided among themselves.

The situation in Syria has changed in recent times
