Mysterious Dinga Dinga virus: A new virus has knocked in Uganda, Africa. The name of this virus is Dinga Dinga. The body of a person infected with this virus starts trembling. Women and children are most at risk from this disease. Due to Dinga-Dinga disease, control over the body is lost and there is difficulty in walking. At the same time, the affected patient keeps moving as if he is dancing.

According to a report by Firstpost English, the first such strange disease was found in Bundibugyo district of Uganda. The patient affected by this disease feels as if he is dancing. Apart from this, they get high fever and feel weakness. The big thing is that this disease also causes paralysis in some people. Although no one has died from the disease so far, according to local media reports, the disease is spreading rapidly in the African country, and health officials there are struggling to find the cause.

What did the health officer say?
Bundibugyo District Health Officer Dr. Kiyita Christopher said that patients usually recover within a week. Regarding herbal remedies, he said, “There is no scientific evidence that herbal medicine can cure this disease. We are using specific therapy, and I urge the local people to get treatment from the district health facilities.” “I do.” To prevent the spread of the disease, he said, people are advised to maintain good hygiene, avoid contact with affected persons and immediately report new cases to local health teams. Dr Kiyita confirmed that no cases have been reported outside Bundibugyo.

Patient shared experience
Dinga- A patient of Dinga has shared his personal experience about the disease. He said that initially he felt paralyzed and then his body started trembling. Speaking to a local newspaper, the concerned youth said, ‘He is feeling very weak and is having trouble walking. I was brought to Bundibugyo Hospital for treatment and thank God I am fine now.

300 cases have been registered so far
The first case of Dinga-Dinga was found in Bundibugyo, Uganda. After this the number of patients increased rapidly. According to the information, 300 people have been affected so far. The first patient associated with this disease was detected in early 2023. Many laboratories are working to find out the cause of this disease. The samples have been sent to the Ugandan Ministry of Health for further investigation.

Comparison being made with the dancing plague of 1518
The unusual symptoms of ‘Dinga Dinga’ have been compared to the “dancing plague” of 1518. Something similar was seen in the year 1518 when hundreds of people in Strasbourg, France were caught in the uncontrolled dancing movement. This continued for a long time. During that period, deaths were also seen in some cases. Although there is no direct link between these incidents and ‘Dinga Dinga’, it is suspected due to the similarity in symptoms.
