Trump angry over ceasefire violation

While speaking on the social media platform ‘Truth Social’, Trump made serious allegations against Iran. He wrote, “Iran decided to open fire in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday, in complete violation of our ceasefire agreement! Several of those bullets were fired at a French ship and a British cargo ship. This was not good, was it?”

Important talks will be held in Islamabad

Amidst the threats, Trump also indicated to keep the path of diplomacy open. He told that his representatives are reaching Pakistan’s capital Islamabad for talks on Monday (April 20) evening. Trump wrote that he would negotiate an agreement there, which he called “a very fair and reasonable deal.”

Mention of blockade and economic loss

Trump took a dig at Iran’s announcement of closing the Strait of Hormuz, saying that America’s blockade has already closed it. According to Trump, Iran is saying they are closing the route, which is strange because our ‘blockade’ has already closed it. They are helping us unknowingly. Due to the closure of this route, Iran is incurring a loss of $500 million every day, while America has no loss. In fact, many ships are now going to Texas, Louisiana and Alaska of America to fill oil.

‘No More Mr. Nice Guy’

Trump warned that if Iran does not accept this agreement, the consequences will be very bad. He wrote, “I hope they accept it, because if they don’t, the United States will blow up every single power plant and every single bridge in Iran. No more decency!” Trump further said in a very aggressive tone that he would consider it an honor to accomplish what other presidents had not done in the last 47 years. He said clearly, “It’s time to end Iran’s killing machine!”

Tension and unstable ceasefire

This direct conflict between America and Iran started on February 28 with American and Israeli air strikes on Tehran. There was an unstable ceasefire last week, before which Trump had threatened to destroy the entire Iranian civilization. Under the two-week ceasefire brokered by Pakistan, Iran had agreed to allow ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. However, the first round of talks held in Islamabad last weekend remained inconclusive. The current situation is that America has continued its blockade, while Iran has reimposed sanctions on Saturday, accusing America of “betrayal”. Now all eyes are on the second round of talks to be held in Islamabad on Monday.
