Russia’s Flying Chernobyl: Russia is continuously using deadly missiles against Ukraine. In this sequence, Russia fired two precision missiles on Ukraine on Tuesday (September 3), which caused heavy damage. Ukraine also confirmed this attack by Russia and called it a very deadly attack.
Russia is now manufacturing a nuclear-powered cruise missile ‘9M370 Burevestnik’. This deadly missile is also being called ‘Flying Chernobyl’. This missile is a cause of concern because of its unlimited range as it has the capability to attack anywhere in the world and hence it is also called a machine of death.
What did Vladimir Putin say?
Russian President Vladimir Putin has described this nuclear-armed missile as ‘invincible’. With the help of this missile, Russia can destroy any part of the world including America in the blink of an eye.
Where was he posted?
Two American researchers have discovered the deployment sites of Russia’s 9M370 Burevestnik missile. It was reported that Russia has deployed it in Vologda-20 and Chebsara, located about 475 kilometers north of Moscow. It is reported that earlier nuclear bombs used in missiles were kept at these places.
How lethal is the 9M370 Burevestnik missile?
One of Russia’s most controversial weapons is the 9M370 Burevestnik missile, which President Putin showed the world for the first time in March 2018. Designed for nuclear attack, this missile has a nuclear-powered engine that makes its range unlimited.
According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies, its range can be up to 20,000 kilometers. With the help of this range, it will be able to attack any part of the earth from Russia. This missile can be launched from a small solid fuel rocket.
It was told that this missile can remain in the air for several days. At the time of launch, the length of the missile will be 12 meters, which is said to be reduced to nine meters during flight. This missile, which flies at a height of 50 to 100 meters, will be able to change its direction like an airplane, due to which it will be easy to penetrate the air defense system. Even if this missile is destroyed in the air from the ground, it will cause a lot of destruction.
Why is it being called ‘Flying Chernobyl’?
According to media reports, the 9M370 Burevestnik missile has failed its tests several times. In 2016, it was tested 13 times, out of which only two were partially successful. When the test in 2019 failed, a large amount of radiation leaked, killing five Russian nuclear experts. It was only after these deaths that it was called ‘flying Chernobyl’.
