Former ISI Chief Arrested: Former chief of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI, Faiz Hameed, was taken into custody by the army on Monday (August 12). Action has been initiated against Lieutenant General (Retired) Faiz Hameed under the provisions of the Pakistan Army Act. According to the information given by ISPR, Faiz Hameed has been taken into military custody. After which the process of his court martial has been started in connection with the Top City Housing Scheme scam.
A press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that former Pakistan intelligence chief Faiz Hameed has been arrested by the Army. In fact, “following the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a team of the Pakistan Army had conducted an investigation to find out the complaints made in the Top City Case against former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed, in which several cases have come to light against Faiz Ahmed.
Court martial process started- ISPR
The ISPR further said, “Apart from this, after the retirement of Faiz Ahmed, many cases of violation of Pakistan Army Act have also come to light. After which disciplinary action has been initiated against retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed. At present, the process of Field General Court Martial has been started. This is the first time that court martial proceedings have been initiated against a former intelligence chief of Pakistan.
Allegations of misuse of position against former ISI chief
In fact, the Pakistani Army had reportedly formed an inquiry committee in April to investigate allegations of misuse of power against the former spy chief and head of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

In its written order issued on 14 November 2023 last year, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had said that the allegations against former spy chief retired Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed are of “extremely serious nature”. Because if they are proved true, they will damage the reputation of the country’s armed forces, ISI and Pakistan Rangers, so they cannot be ignored.
The management of the private housing scheme Top City had leveled serious allegations against the former ISI chief, claiming that he had raided the offices and houses of its owner Moiz Khan. After which in November 2023, the Supreme Court had asked the owner of the housing society to approach the concerned departments, including the Ministry of Defense, to settle his complaints against the former spy chief and his associates.
