Lebanon Pager Blast: After the Lebanon pager blast, Hezbollah has declared war against Israel. Hezbollah fired a series of rockets at Israel’s border posts on Wednesday (September 18). According to a Reuters report, after the Lebanon pager blast, Hezbollah has carried out cross-border attacks against Israel for the first time.
Why is Hezbollah attacking?
Yesterday, i.e. Tuesday (17 September), several pager blasts took place simultaneously in Lebanon. Pager is a type of communication device, it has been used more or less like a mobile phone. However, with time, people continued to use phones. At least 12 people have died in the attack that took place yesterday. This blast is being linked to Israel. Hezbollah has alleged that Israel is involved in the attack. However, the Israeli army has refused to comment on this.
Why do Hezbollah fighters use pagers?
Hezbollah uses pagers for communication within the organization. Their location cannot be traced with pagers. There is a risk of location being traced with the use of mobile phones, so Hezbollah prefers pagers over phones. Pager is a wireless tele-communication device, which is used to send voice and text messages.
Hezbollah has not given any statement about how these pagers exploded. However, it is being suspected that the battery was heated in some way so that the lithium battery gets overheated and explodes. However, experts have raised questions on this theory. Experts believe that it is not possible to do this with all the pagers in such a large number.
