‘Hindus for Kamala Harris’, a special initiative by American Hindus to make her win the presidential election

Presidential elections are to be held in the US in November. To support the Democratic Party’s candidate Kamala Harris, some Hindus of the country have formed a group called ‘Hindus for Kamala Harris’. They believe that she will be a good leader for India, America and the world.

The founding members of the Hindu for Kamala Harris group said that this group has been formed to help Kamala Devi Harris become the 47th President of the United States. US Vice President Kamala Harris (59) formally accepted the Democratic Party’s candidature in the presidential election on Thursday.

A member of the group said, “We must help Kamala Harris win. This will be the best outcome for America, India and the world! Trump is a disaster!” Another member said, “There is a simple way to win. Support Harris’ candidacy for what she stands for, without dismissing the other side.” The group has urged Hindus to vote in the elections, put up signs in support of Kamala Harris near their homes and donate to help her campaign.

After Kamala Harris was declared the candidate by the Democratic Party, another group has launched a new website for the campaign – DesiPresident.com. A group of Indian Americans has prepared this website for Kamala Harris, whose tagline has been kept as ‘With Kamala’.

Kamala Harris’s mother was originally from Chennai who later settled in America, while her father came to America from Jamaica. Indian-Americans are very excited that someone from their community has been declared a candidate for the post of President.

The website says, “The coming months will be very exciting and we promise that together we will make history. Your support and participation is most important for our success.”

The Desi President, an initiative of the Indian American Impact Fund, has launched a T-shirt with the tagline ‘Kamala Ke Saath: Vote Kamala’ which has become quite popular on the social media platform in a short time. This is not the first time that a Hindi slogan has been used in the campaign during the presidential election. Earlier in the 2016 elections, Trump’s campaign team used the slogan ‘Ab Ki Baar, Trump Sarkar’.
