Houthi havoc in the Red Sea! Claimed to have fired missiles at two Saudi oil tankers

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the attack on two Saudi Arabian oil tankers in the Red Sea. This attack came a few days after Saudi Arabia’s army attacked Sana’a airport, increasing tensions between Riyadh and the Iran-backed Houthi rebel group. The Houthi group’s official spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sari Qasim Sari, claimed in a statement on Telegram that Houthi forces have targeted two Saudi Arabian oil tankers ENCELIA and LAYLA.

Attacked when Houthi siege was broken

According to Brigadier General Yahya Sari Qasim Sari, Houthi rebels launched a “special military operation” targeting the two ships because they violated the Houthi blockade in the Red Sea.

Ballistic and cruise missiles were used in the attack

In his statement, Brigadier General Yahya Sari Qasim Sari also said, “This military operation was carried out with multiple ballistic and cruise missiles as well as drones. With the help of Allah, the strikes were accurate and caused massive fire on both ships.”

10 ships forced to retreat in the Red Sea

The Houthi spokesperson further claimed that after this military operation, about 10 ships retreated or were forced to return. “The Houthi rebels will continue their naval operations against enemy Saudi Arabia and will continue to pursue a policy of ‘encirclement in exchange for encirclement,'” Saari said.

Brigadier General Yahya Sari Qasim Sari further said, “We want to make it clear to the enemy Saudi Arabia that any foolishness or attack targeting our country will be responded to with large-scale military operations by entering its territory. Houthi closed Bab el-Mandeb strait for Saudi

Know that Yemen has a bridge connecting the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Houthi rebels have recently announced the closure of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to Saudi Arabian ships.. There is a fear that ships from other countries may also shy away from passing through the strait due to fear of attacks by Houthi rebels. Before this, 12 percent of the world’s trade through the strait may be affected.
