How many times have Hindus been attacked in Canada so far, have temples been targeted due to Trudeau’s silence?

Attack on Hindu Temple in Canada: Khalistani fundamentalists created a ruckus in the Hindu Sabha temple of Brampton on Sunday (3 November 2024). Hindus were beaten in the temple. This incident has been condemned by many Canadian MPs. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has also called it condemnable and said that such incidents are unacceptable.

Some Hindu leaders and MPs of Canada have also come out to protest against this attack. He is also seen coming and demonstrating. Canadian MP Chandra Arya condemned the violence, saying Khalistani extremists have crossed a red line that highlights the rise of violent extremism in Canada. The attack by Khalistanis on Hindu-Canadians inside the campus shows how violent and shameless Khalistani extremism has become in Canada. When did Hindu temples come under target?

• In July this year, the Hindu temple BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Edmonton was vandalized. Anti-India and pro-Khalistan posters were pasted on the gate and back wall of the temple. Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s picture was also put on it.
• Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Surrey is the oldest and largest Hindu temple in the province of British Columbia. There was vandalism here also last year.
• Last year, in 2023, a Hindu temple was damaged in Windsor, which drew widespread condemnation and calls for action from both Canadian and Indian authorities.
• Temples were similarly targeted in earlier incidents in Mississauga and Brampton, which drew strong reactions from the Indian community in Canada.
• During the last few years, Hindu temples in the Greater Toronto Area, British Columbia and other places in Canada have been vandalized out of hatred.
