Impact of CJP movement reaches Nepal! Now Balen government surrounded by paper leak

A big case of examination paper leak has come to light in Nepal, after which the government led by Balen Shah has become completely alert. The government has assured the youth of the country that no culprit will be spared in this case and strict action will be taken. It is believed that the reason behind this swiftness of the government is also the impact of the recent major student movements in Delhi. Protests continued for more than a month in Delhi against paper leaks and examination irregularities, which the Union Education Minister Dharmendra There was calm after Pradhan’s resignation.

Nepal’s Education and Sports Minister Sasmit Pokharel has said that the leaking of MBS first semester examination paper of Tribhuvan University (TU) is a very serious matter. He clearly said that strict action will be taken against those who are found involved in this incident. The minister said that the police have arrested two people in this case and the investigation is progressing continuously.

Immediate action against paper leakers

Sasmit Pokharel said that as soon as information about the paper leak was received, talks were held between the Home Ministry and Nepal Police and surveillance was increased. He assured the students that immediate action has been initiated against those who leaked the paper. He said that anyone who works against the education system and good administration will be punished as per the law. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested two people for leaking the question paper of MBS first semester Organizational Behavior subject. This examination was held on 24th July. Shortly after the exam started, the exam paper went viral on social media and other online platforms. Police have started investigating the matter and have said that detailed information will be made public after the investigation is completed.

Resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan

This whole matter is being discussed more because there were large scale demonstrations across the country including Delhi-Bihar regarding paper leaks and irregularities in the examination. Students protested continuously in the month of July. The situation became very tense on 20th July. This movement was started against alleged irregularities and paper leaks in NEET and other competitive examinations. This movement at Jantar Mantar under the leadership of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) and several student organizations had attracted attention at the national level. Later Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had to resign from his post.

Big demonstrations have taken place in Nepal

These demonstrations in Delhi can also impact the youth of neighboring countries. Nepal has experienced major student and youth movements before. The large-scale ‘Gen G’ movement in Nepal in August and September 2025 influenced the politics of the country. After that movement, the government of the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had fallen. For this reason, the current government of Nepal seems to be very cautious regarding issues related to youth. The government does not want the students’ confidence to be broken due to irregularities in the education system or large-scale protests should begin. Therefore, a strict approach has been adopted in this matter of paper leak from the very beginning and the investigating agencies have been instructed to take swift action.
