The discussion on making India a permanent member of the United Nations Council (UNSC) has intensified again. Former Singapore diplomat Kishore Mehboobani has supported making India a permanent member of the UNSC.

Kishore Mahbubani, supporting India, said that Great Britain should leave its seat in the UNSC because Great Britain is no longer great.

Former diplomat Kishore Mahbubani spoke about the necessary reforms in the UNSC meeting held at the United Nations. He said that India is the third most powerful country after the United States and China.

He also said that Great Britain is no longer great. Any country should have the powers of today and not of the past, so Great Britain should now leave the seat of UNSC.

Former diplomat Kishore Mahbubani said that Great Britain’s seat should be given to India. He said that Britain has not used its veto power in the last ten years. Britain is probably afraid that if it does so, it may have to face opposition.

Kishore Mahbubani, pointing towards Britain, said that if a great power leaves, the organization collapses. The powers that Britain had earlier are no longer there, in such a situation it should give its seat to India.
