US Presidential Election: The results of the US presidential elections have been declared. Republican Party candidate Donald Trump will become the President of America by winning the election for the second time. Donald Trump has secured 279 electoral votes. His rival and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris has won 219 electoral votes. Trump has won four out of seven swing states of America. These include Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
There are a total of 538 Electoral College votes in America, 270 votes are required for majority. Georgia and North Carolina have 16-16 electoral votes. Whereas Pennsylvania has the maximum of 19 electoral votes. Apart from these three, other swing states are Nevada, Michigan and Arizona.
Lots of congratulations for Trump
Donald Trump is receiving congratulations from leaders and diplomats around the world. Prime Minister from India Narendra Modi Congratulated his victory. Apart from this, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has also sent a congratulatory message to Trump. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also sent congratulatory messages to Donald Trump. Zelensky wrote in a post on the social media platform We appreciated Trump’s commitment to ‘peace through strength’ which can bring Ukraine closer to peace. Hopefully we will accomplish this together.”
France’s attitude upset?
The statement that came out from France regarding Donald Trump’s victory has attracted the attention of the whole world. An official statement has been issued by France regarding the US election results. French government spokeswoman Maud Bregion said that Europe must now take charge of its own destiny. He said that now one should not think what America will do? Rather we should think about what Europe is capable of doing. He said that Europe should decide its own destiny in the fields of defence, industrial reform and decarbonization.
However, French President Emmanuel Macron wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations, President Donald Trump. As we have worked together for four years, I am now ready to work again. With your resolutions and my thoughts, with respect and ambition.” Together for greater peace and prosperity.”
Emmanuel Macron will be the President of France for the next two years. The relationship between Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump has always been full of ups and downs. But with the passage of time, conflicts arose between Trump and his European allies due to policy decisions on climate, black money and especially Iran.
