Israel-Hamas War: A soldier of Indian origin has died amid the war going on between Israel and Hamas for the last 11 months. On Wednesday, the Israeli army IDF said that 24-year-old Staff Sergeant Gerry Gideon Hanghal has died in a terrorist attack. He was a resident of the Israeli city of Mof HaGalil. Gerry Gideon Hanghal was a soldier of the Nahshon Battalion of the Kfir Brigade and was posted at Assaf Junction near the West Bank. A big revelation has been made about Hanghal’s death, in which it has been told that he had a basic connection with India and he was an Indian Jew.
Israeli activist Hananya Naftali has posted on X regarding the death of the Indian Israeli soldier. He has expressed grief over the incident and called it heartbreaking. Naftali said that Gary Gideon Hanghal was a 24-year-old Indian Jewish IDF soldier who died in a horrific attack in Judea and Samaria. Naftali said that Hanghal sacrificed his life while protecting Israel. Apart from this, the mayor of Nof HaGalil has also paid tribute to Hanghal. He said, ‘The city of Nof HaGalil is mourning the death of Staff Sergeant Hanghal. The people of this community are good, polite and patriotic people.’ According to the Times of Israel report, the people of the Beni Menashe community are the people of the Jewish community living in the northeastern states of Manipur and Mizoram of India. Beni Menashe has been identified among the 10 lost tribes of Israel. According to the report, currently about 5 thousand Jews are living in Manipur and Mizoram. At the same time, about 5 thousand Jews have already gone to Israel.
Terrorist attack with gas tanker
After the attack, Israeli forces killed the terrorist in a retaliatory attack. He has been identified as 58-year-old Heil Dhaifallah, who drove a gas tanker with a Palestinian number plate towards the IDF unit at the junction and collided with a bus stop. Hanghal was seriously injured in this attack. Other soldiers present at the scene killed the terrorist in retaliatory action. This terrorist is said to be a resident of Rafat near Ramallah.
