Iran Supreme Leader Warned Israel: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Israel and the US that any action against them would face a “devastating response”. Khamenei gave this statement on Saturday (November 2, 2024) when he was addressing students. Khamenei said, “The enemies, whether they are the Zionist regime or the United States, will definitely receive a devastating response for all that they are doing against Iran and the Iranian nation.” He also mentioned Iran-backed armed groups, including Yemen’s Houthis, Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Hamas.
Khamenei did not elaborate on any of the attacks. Last week, the Israeli army attacked Iranian military bases, in which about 20 areas of Ila and Khuzestan were targeted. Israel said the attacks were in response to attacks by “Iran and its allies”.
Celebrated students day with students
Ali Khamenei met with university students on Saturday on the occasion of Students’ Day. This day is celebrated in memory of the incident in which Iranian soldiers opened fire on students protesting against the Shah’s regime at the University of Tehran in 1978.

US military forces are deployed throughout the Middle East and some troops are now operating Thermal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) batteries in Israel. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has ordered the deployment of “additional ballistic missile defense destroyers, fighter squadrons and tanker aircraft, and several US Air Force B-52 long-range strike bombers to the region”. Experts believe that America does not want any kind of tension before the elections. Earlier, America had also warned Israel not to attack oil reserves or nuclear plants in Iran.
