Israeli army got hold of Hamas tunnel handbook, train used to run inside, IDF made a big disclosure

Hamas Tunnel Handbook: The Israeli Defense Force has discovered a railway track inside a Hamas tunnel in Gaza. The IDF claimed on Tuesday that its soldiers found a railway track inside a tunnel in northern Gaza. The IDF said that its engineering unit and Gaza Brigade destroyed the tunnel after discovering it. Israeli soldiers have been constantly discovering tunnels since the war began. Israel believes that Hamas has laid a whole network of tunnels inside Gaza, which have proved very helpful for Hamas in the war.

The Jerusalem Post quoted the IDF in its report that its soldiers are destroying Hamas’ underground infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Division’s engineering unit, with the help of the Yahalom unit, destroyed a Hamas attack tunnel in the Bet Lahiya area after detecting it. The report said that this tunnel was detected based on intelligence sources, the length of the tunnel was about one kilometer. The soldiers have found weapons, electricity and rail transport infrastructure from inside the tunnel.

What is written in Hamas’s handbook?
The Jerusalem Post report states that the IDF has also found a handbook providing information about the tunnel network. This has provided great information about Hamas’ underground war preparations. The New York Times has claimed in its report that the Israeli army has found a 2019 handbook related to Hamas tunnels. This shows how Hamas had prepared for underground operations in Gaza. The handbook states that infrared-equipped night-vision goggles are needed to walk in the dark inside the tunnel. Along with this, it is also told how the fighters have to use weapons inside the tunnel and what kind of precautions they have to take.

Billions of dollars have been spent on building the tunnel – IDF
The IDF has called the network of tunnels laid beneath the Gaza Strip the ‘Hamas Metro’. Hamas had stored missiles and other weapons in its underground city. Hamas has also built command centers and bunkers at these places. Separate living areas have been built in it. According to the IDF, billions of dollars have been spent in building this network, because building a half-kilometer tunnel costs 5 lakh dollars.
