Vistara Airlines flight UK 27 from Mumbai to Frankfurt has been diverted to Erzurum Airport in Turkey due to security reasons. A message written ‘There is a bomb in the plane’ was found on a tissue paper in the toilet of this plane, due to which the route was diverted. According to the information, the flight reached Erzurum safely and all the passengers are safe.
Security investigation going on in Türkiye
As soon as the news of the flight being diverted was received, Vistara Airlines issued a statement, in which it was said that the matter will be thoroughly investigated. According to the Times of India report, a Vistara spokesperson said, "Vistara flight flying from Mumbai to Frankfurt on September 6, 2024 was diverted to Turkey due to security reasons. The aircraft has landed safely at Erzurum Airport. As per protocol, the concerned authorities were immediately alerted and full cooperation is being extended to the investigating agencies to complete the security investigation. The safety of passengers, crew members and the aircraft is our first priority."
If the news is false, the plane will fly again
Vistara said that if after security check it is found that the news of bomb in the plane was spread falsely, then the flight will again proceed to its destination. A senior pilot said, "To find out who wrote it, the handwriting should be examined. Such diversions cause a lot of inconvenience to the passengers and cost the airlines a lot of money. Apart from this, the schedule of aircraft operations is also affected."
247 people were on board the plane
There were 247 people on board this plane, including 11 crew members. Earlier in July 2024, an Air India flight flying from New Delhi to San Francisco was diverted to Krasnoyarsk International Airport (UNKL) in Russia due to technical reasons.
