Know what Pakistani media said on the meeting of PM Shahbaz and S Jaishankar

SCO Summit 2024: India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is in neighboring country Pakistan, where he has arrived to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (October 15), he also met Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, which is also being discussed in Pakistani media. However, this was not a formal meeting, rather a dinner was organized on Tuesday to welcome the representatives of different countries.

A video related to this had surfaced, in which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was meeting the delegates attending the conference. At that time there was also a 20 second conversation with S Jaishankar.

On the 20-second conversation between Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistani media news outlet Tribune wrote that after 10 years of silence, there was a short talk of 20 seconds between Pakistan and India. It was further written in the report that relations between Pakistan and India have been going through a tense phase for almost a decade.

This is the first visit of any Foreign Minister in the last 10 years. Earlier in the year 2015, Sushma Swaraj had reached Pakistan to participate in a program related to Afghanistan. Whereas Geo TV wrote that a rare meeting was witnessed between the leaders of two arch rival neighbours.

India expects bilateral meeting with Pakistan
China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus are included in the ongoing 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Pakistan. Everyone’s eyes are on India and Pakistan regarding this conference. People were hopeful that India would hold bilateral meetings with Pakistan. However, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had already put an end to all the speculations and clearly said that he is going to Pakistan only as a member of SCO. He will not talk about relations with Pakistan in any way there.
